My Review:
I really enjoyed reading A Breath of Fresh Air by the Lovely and very talented Author Jessica Redland.
Well, wow, what to say about this gem? There are twists and turns all over the place. Set in the Lake District, we follow Rosie’s story. You’ll love Toffee and Chester the dogs in the story. Autumn also appears, as you may remember she moved there, having been Rosie’s pen pal for many many moons.
Rosie’s mum Alice features heavily in the story as one of the main characters. She has her demons she needs to lay to rest and as the story progresses there seems to be a lot of surprises on the horizon for her too.
Hubert is a moody character who listens to no one but himself and his stubborn ways see him in a sticky situation. His estranged son Oliver appears to take control of the mess. This causes some unfinished business to come to light between him and the lovely Rosie.
Rosie struggled a lot at school at the hands of the ‘Populars’ who are the mean girl types with lads thrown into the mix for good measure. The dynamics reminded me of a song called ‘Olympia’ by former grunge band Hole.
The tall and short of it is that this is a page turner, you’ll lose yourself in the continuing ‘oh my goodness’ moments, an enjoyable and fully recommended read.

The BRAND NEW uplifting novel from MILLION-COPY BESTSELLER Jessica Redland
Rosie feels like there’s something missing in her life.
She loves her job as the manager of Willowdale Hall Riding Stables, caring for the horses and teaching children to ride, and she loves the home she shares with her mother in the beautiful Lake District. But she can’t help wondering how her life might look if things had been different. What if her father had been around to help care for her mother? And what if she’d found someone special herself?
When Hubert Cranleigh – the owner of Willowdale Hall – is taken ill, his son Oliver steps into the breach. Brooding and distant, Rosie is furious when he claims not to know who she is. Especially when they have a history.
Rosie’s life is about to be turned upside down, but with the New Year comes new opportunities. What Rosie feels is missing from her life might be closer than she thinks, and with more significant consequences than she could ever have imagined…
