My Review: I enjoyed getting to know the Main Character Eleanor who meets Alec Jenkins in Wales and helps him polish off a burnt roast chicken. There are mentions of the war and the effects its left behind. It’s a very chatty book and we meet some intersting people as well as Charlie, Alec’s brother. It’s a multi cultural read that travels far and wide including places like Rome, Paris, Great Zimbabwe, India etc. Eleanor is a very talented artist and her works get published. She is a fun but lonely character. It’s an interesting read that spans over a number of different years starting in the 70s. I enjoyed the historical aspects and different dynamics. An easy to follow read.
