Author Catherine Miller

Thanks for letting me read this ARC.
What can I say about this book? It’s gripping, inspiring, stomach turning, filled with love, desperation and hope.
Identical twins, Jodie and Harper have spent their lives in each others pockets, inseparable until one night everything changes and both have to redefine their lives independently from each other.
Harper has to learn to live her life from scratch, Jodie has to learn to live her life on her own. Mainly set in London, both sisters are passionate dancers. They remain two halves of the same coin and yet everything is different. The story is told from eithers perspective. Jodie’s struggle is no less than Harpers. It was simply different and less obvious. Can their twintuition save the day, the present and the future?
Catherine has done it again, another page turning, compelling read. It’s a tough act to follow as my first book of 2023. Last year The Crash remained in my top three of 2022, that’s how incredible the writing is.

Her Sister’s Promise: A totally heartbreaking and unputdownable page-turner by Catherine Miller

I laugh as I watch my sister cross the road, her blonde curls bouncing. Her happiness is so contagious that I fail to spot the black cab racing towards her…
In a split second, my world shatters. My heart pounds inside my chest as I helplessly look on. Harper’s life – my precious twin sister – hangs in the balance. And I know that nothing will ever be the same.
After the accident, I’m told Harper will live, but that she’ll never walk again. I make a promise to never leave her side, but she says it’s too painful to watch me continue to train as a dancer. And when she starts to distance herself from me, I’m in pieces. I have never done anything without her by my side, and suddenly she’s slipping away from me.
Facing life without my best friend is harder than I thought, and I can’t bear the pain of knowing that Harper is suffering. And as my world begins to crumble, will my sister remember the promise she made to me when we were children? That we would always find our way back to one another, and live our lives together, no matter what…
A heartbreaking and gripping emotional read, perfect for fans of unputdownable family dramas, and for those who love reading Jodi Picoult, Liane Moriarty and Diane Chamberlain.

About the author

When Catherine Miller became a mum to twins, she decided her hands weren’t full enough so wrote a novel with every spare moment she managed to find. By the time the twins were two, Catherine had a two-book deal with Carina UK. Her debut novel, Waiting For You, came out in March 2016.

Catherine was a NHS physiotherapist, but for health reasons she retired early from this career. As she loved her physiotherapy job, she decided if she couldn’t do that she would pursue her writing dream. It took a few years and a couple of babies, but in 2015 she won the Katie Fforde bursary, was a finalist in the London Book Fair Write Stuff Competition and highly commended in Woman magazine’s writing competition. Since then she’s had four novels published.
