Author Rachel Walkley
Cover for A Summer of Castles

The story follows Robyn who is headhunted to go on an all expenses paid journey to photograph 6 castles. Her friend Yvette encourages her to take the challenge and embrace the passion in her photography. This is a great opportunity to follow her bliss and travel.

Robyn has a special gift that allows her to connect to the history of the ruins.

Her decision to go with B and Bs rather than hotels sees her meeting some interesting people along the way.

Her assignment is very cloak and dagger, there are lots of twists and turns to be discovered as well as some amazing historical sites where the castles stand.

I spent a lot of time engaging with Alexa finding out more about Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick, Barnard Castle etc.

I definitely enjoyed the historical aspect of the book as well as the fiction. It’s a pretty great read.
