Heidi Swain Author Bio
Although passionate about writing from an early age, Heidi Swain gained a degree in literature and flirted briefly with a newspaper career before she plucked up the courage to join a creative writing class and take her literary ambitions seriously.
A lover of vintage paraphernalia and the odd bottle of fizz, she now writes feel good fiction with heart for Simon and Schuster. Her debut novel, The Cherry Tree Café was published in July 2015 and she became a Sunday Times Bestseller in 2017. Heidi writes two books a year – a summer and winter title.
She is represented by Amanda Preston and lives in the east of England with a mischievous cat called Storm.
The Summer Fair
There really isn’t a more appropriate day than February 14th for spreading the romance fiction love and today I’m delighted to be able to increase that tenfold by sharing the stunning cover for my brand-new release which publishes on May 12th (and of course has its own party happening in the Book Club), THE SUMMER FAIR.

Cover description –
Set against a predominantly blue and lilac background, with the title written in yellow, the foreground features a marquee and fairground games tents topped with flags and all bedecked in bunting and set in a lush green field. The cover is bordered by a variety of white, yellow and purple flowers and green foliage.
The words love, friendship and new beginnings are written beneath the title.
I really hope you love it as much as I do?
It encapsulates the very essence of this special story and I can’t help thinking there’s some extra magic sprinkled throughout this book so I can’t wait for you all to read it.
There are a couple of characters who arrived completely unscripted, but I have developed such a fondness for them. In fact, they might be in my top five favourites list. I aspire to become one of them in later life. I wonder if you’ll be able to guess which one?
About the book –
Beth loves her job working in a care home, looking after its elderly residents, but she doesn’t love the cramped and dirty house-share she currently lives in. So, when she gets the opportunity to move to Nightingale Square, sharing a house with the lovely Eli, she jumps at the chance.
The community at Nightingale Square welcomes Beth with open arms, and when she needs help to organise a fundraiser for the care home they rally round. Then she discovers The Arches, a local creative arts centre, has closed and the venture to replace it needs their help too – but this opens old wounds and past secrets for Beth.
Music was always an important part of her life, but now she has closed the door on all that. Will her friends at the care home and the people of Nightingale Square help her find a way to learn to love it once more…?

The books are best read in order, but can also be picked up and enjoyed in isolation too.

Jess had life sorted. A gang of great mates, an adoring fiancé and a thriving business – she couldn’t have asked for more. But the proverbial rug is whipped out from under her feet when the fiancé makes a sharp exit on New Year’s Eve. Therein follows the Week From Hell, eternally streaked mascara and Chardonnay-a-plenty.
But this is the story of a woman on a path. Sure, there are a number of trips and falls along the way but Jess is on a journey that will change her life. On a boring business course, she remembers what she really wants. Strange new friendships are made, new ideas grow; and a last-minute discount holiday to Turkey helps her heart wake up to a whole new rhythm. A rhythm that is just beginning to get going . . .

Isabella May – Valentine’s Day in the Heidi Swain and Friends FB Group

My name is Isabella May and I am the author of a romcom collection called Foodie Romance Journeys.
Many of my books are set in Glastonbury as I grew up in the quirky English town. Others feature Spain (my current home), Italy, Portugal and France. All of my books centre around food and my mantra is #eatwhatyouwant #eatwhatyoulove – I am passionate about women doing that in particular, without feeling guilty or that they should explain themselves.
I love to pack my stories full of romance (featuring the dishiest of love interests) and laugh-out-loud comedy. If I can make somebody smile today – or even better, laugh – then I have done my job 🙂

After suppressing childhood memories of her grandmother Edie, Jules prides herself on her resolve and independence. But when her personal life turns sour she is left with unanswered questions, a broken family unit, and a vacant house in a small seaside community in Cornwall.
In post-war Britain, a young Edie must learn to adapt to the changes of a desolate country. Stepping up to the responsibilities of the family business, amid a blossoming courtship with local fisherman Henry, she soon discovers that life can still be harsh and struggles to cope with the tragedy that befalls them.
6 Caledon Street: In an attempt to escape her painful past Sarah Miller moves into a beautifully restored Edwardian property in Caledon Street. Soon her life intermingles with not only her concert pianist neighbour, and her landlord, but also upon the discovery of some dusty journals written by an original occupant of the house. Recognising parallels in her life and the young teenage girl’s among the crisp pages of the journal, Sarah is faced with the choice to overcome her past, or allow it to hinder her future.

Hi, I’m Jaimie, I’m 37 from South Wales, and I write romantic comedies for Harper Collins. I’ve got nine books out with them now, with book ten coming this summer, and book eleven currently being written!I love love in all its forms and I truly believe that falling in love is our chance to experience a fairytale in real life. I’m privileged that I get to make up love stories for a living and I absolutely adore creating two characters who I know readers will want to watch falling for each other, which I get to experience too as I write. My books are usually straightforward boy-meets-girl love stories, I’m not a huge fan of love triangles or extra complications – I’d rather write stories where you know the main characters are meant for each other from the word go, even if it takes them a while to realise it themselves! There’s nothing better than being able to immerse yourself in a love story that allows you to believe in magic again!

As Lottie Cardew I write uplifting, heartstring-tugging rom-coms, described by readers as charming and magical. I live in North Wales and get to boss around the other members of Novelistas Ink, including popular authors Trisha Ashley and Sophie Claire. I’m also a huge advocate for diversity in fiction, particularly disabled and neurodivergent rep, most likely because I’m diagnosed autistic with suspected ADHD. My home is currently overrun by husband, not-very-small children, and a ball of fluff masquerading as a Pomeranian, so I’m frequently found taking refuge at my desk with a thermos of syrupy latte.

One Summer in Cornwall
Blurb
Escape to Cornwall this summer…
A gorgeous feel-good read, perfect for fans of CATHY BRAMLEY and PHILLIPA ASHLEY.
When Hattie is made redundant and evicted from her flat in one horrible week, she needs time to rethink. Her Uncle Albert left her and her father each half of Fisherman’s Rest, his home in the Cornish town of Port Medden, so this seems the perfect place to escape to until she can figure things out.
As Hattie stays in the cottage, clearing it out, tidying it up and getting it ready to sell, she starts to find her feet in Port Medden and making a new home here begins to feel right. If only her dad didn’t need a quick sale and things weren’t complicated by her unwelcoming neighbour Marcus . . .

Hi everyone, I’m Karen and I love writing about relationships – ones that go right and ones that go wrong! My romance novels usually feature a feisty heroine, a swoon-worthy hero and a glorious location such as Cornwall or Spain – my two favourite places. I lived in Cornwall for several years and now live in Spain. When I wrote my first book set in Cornwall, The Cornish Hotel by the Sea, I fell in love with the fictional Cornish town of Port Medden so decided to revisit it for One Summer In Cornwall.
I loved writing about Hattie, who goes roaring into Port Medden on her Harley Davidson and rubs Marcus, the artist and part time chef, next door up the wrong way. I hope you adore Buddy the parrot who curses, as much as I do, and enjoy your trip to Port Medden with its gorgeous surfing beaches, quaint fisherman’s cottages, and memorable cast of characters.
My next romance novel, The Spanish Wedding Disaster, is out in June. Sophie and Maddie’s best friend’s partner Steve decides to plan a surprise wedding for Kate whilst they’re on holiday in Spain, and asks them to help. Sophie thinks it’s a wonderfully romantic idea, Maddie is dead against it, as is Steve’s brother Josh. Steve is determined though, then things start to go wrong….
If you check out my Amazon Author Page: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Karen-King/e/B0034P6W7I You’ll see that I also write psychological thrillers (where love goes wrong!) and have had many children’s books published too. I’ve had a long and varied writing career, and started out by writing photo stories and articles for Jackie magazine.

‘I beg of you this one thing – that if I should perish here, in this foreign land, that you will look after her.’
March, 1914. When talented artist Isobel embarks on a journey to Egypt, it’s to reunite her best friend Alice with her husband, Wilfred – and to use the stunning sights of Cairo as inspiration for her own paintings.
A whirlwind romance was the last thing she expected, but when Isobel meets Wilfred’s handsome brother, Edward, neither can deny the strong connection between them – especially when unexpected tragedy strikes, leaving them all reeling.
Just as they get to grips with their grief, WW1 erupts, and the lovers are forced to separate. They promise to meet again in London. But when Edward is listed as ‘missing – presumed dead’ only weeks after landing in France, Isobel is devastated, unmarried and on the brink of ruin. She has only one way to save her honour… but it means betraying the love she holds so dear.
A heartrending and thrilling WW1 romance, In This Foreign Land is the stunning new debut from Suzie Hull, for fans of Kate Hewitt, Shirley Dickson and Kate Eastham.

Hello, reader. Once upon a time, I told made-up stories to anyone who’d listen. Often that listener was a weary commuter on a train out of London Liverpool Street.
Nowadays, I write sweet romance novels read by any who’s willing to pay only a couple of pounds for a story full of fun, friendship, and love. Cue Romance and The Christmas Genie’s Wish are mostly set in Colchester, Essex. The Christmas Genie’s wish is on Kindle Unlimited. Both my books are available from Amazon as paperback and on Kindle here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Michaela-Trueman/e/B091QCQTP5/ref=dp_byline_cont_ebooks_1

Jessica Redland
I write emotional but uplifting stories of love, friendship, family and community. They may have readers reaching for the tissues one moment and laughing the next and, because I love my characters, there’ll always be a happy ending.
I have two settings for my books:
WHITSBOROUGH BAY books transport readers to the stunning North Yorkshire Coast. Whitsborough Bay is predominantly inspired by Scarborough where I live with my husband, daughter and sprocker spaniel, with a bit of Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay mixed in there. So far, I’ve written ten books set in Whitsborough Bay. Some are in a series, others are connected, and I love giving my earlier characters cameo appearances.
The first books I wrote were my ‘Welcome to Whitsborough Bay’ series so they’ll always have a very special place in my heart, especially the season finale – Coming Home to Seashell Cottage – which is full of twists and turns. Next are two connected books, All You Need is Love and The Secret to Happiness. The former is one of my favourites of all my books and the latter is a very special one as it secured me a publishing deal with the phenomenal Boldwood Books who changed my life. After a five-year struggle to make any impact, they built me a loyal readership and made my biggest dream come true: to write full-time
Next we have the Christmas on Castle Street series – three books set on a cobbled street full of independent shops and cafés, each focusing on a different business. And finally, last year, I started my Starfish Café series. Book 1 – Snowflakes Over The Starfish Café has recently been announced as a finalist for the Romantic Novel of the Year and I’m so excited about heading to an awards ceremony next month. Book 2 – Spring Tides at The Starfish Café is out in April.
HEDGEHOG HOLLOW books take readers into the beautiful rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds. It’s set on a farm called Hedgehog Hollow and tells the story of Samantha Wishaw who stumbles across the farm when her life is falling apart and ends up setting up and running a hedgehog rescue centre there.
So far, there are four books out in the series with the final two due later this year. Samantha tells the story throughout but book 2 onwards sees her joined by a ‘guest’ narrator – someone else with a very close connection to her who is able to bring a fresh perspective and tell her story. The series is full of emotion, drama, twists and turns, gorgeous hedgehogs and lots of smiles.

Ah, love… it really does make the world go round. I can’t imagine writing a novel that didn’t include a romantic thread (although I often read novels without) but the joy of writing a dual timeline novel is I get to write two love stories. How fabulous is that?
In The Secrets of Hawthorn Place (unbelievably still sporting a bestseller flag four months after publication) there is the forbidden love between the Victorian Arts and Crafts architect, Percy Gladwell, and Violet Marston – the wife of his client. I enjoyed writing a beta male. Percy is slight, suffered from ill health as a child and wears glasses, but his love for Violet is all-consuming – as the dramatic opening chapter of the book reveals, and there connection is deeper than just physical. Nowadays, Violet might have divorced her philandering husband, or perhaps embraced her love for Percy without any guilt, but these were very different times, and Percy resigns himself to the fact that she can never be his.
Writing two love stories over a century apart proved fascinating, and in many ways Percy’s was all the more powerful for its constraints and strict societal values. To even hold the hand of a woman was an extremely powerful and intimate act. Whereas Molly thinks nothing of a sexual relationship within days of dating a young man she meets when she is visiting her grieving granddad in Dorset. But I found her slow-burn romance equally joyful to write because of the misunderstandings and mishaps.
It’s tricky to talk about the contemporary romance in this book without giving spoilers, suffice to say, young Molly Butterfield as some serious growing up to do, and when she does, she realises that love she thought she wanted and the love she eventually finds are two very different things.
I am beyond delighted that The Works has purchased my book, as this is the first time my novels are widely available on the high street. So if you fancy a romantic read this Valentine’s Day, why not nip in and grab a 3 for £5 bargain? There’s some great authors currently in store, including Marian Keyes, Deborah Carr and Lisa Hobman. (At the time of writing, this incredible £2 deal is matched by Amazon.) And even if you are spending Valentine’s Day alone, I hope you can snuggle up with someone you love – even if they are between the pages of a book.

Hi everyone, I’m author Lisa Hobman and I write heartwarming stories set in various stunning locations across my home country of Scotland. I like to use vivid descriptions to help my readers visualise these beautiful areas that I fell in love before I moved up here.
My protagonists are realistic, every day people living fairly normal lives for the most part and all of them are loveable in their own way. You will also find a dog or two in most of my books as I’m pretty much a crazy dog lady!
When you read my stories I hope you enjoy your virtual tour of bonny Scotland and meeting the characters I’ve created.

Hello everyone. My name is Lizzie Chantree and I’m a romance writer. My books are packed full of laughter, sunshine and second chances at love. They are written to make my readers smile and hopefully to wash away stresses for a few hours. My stories all have women in them who are stronger than they realise.
One of my romantic reads is called If you love me, I’m yours. It is about a shy woman with a lot of insecurities, who is suddenly thrust into the limelight. Her whole world changes and she has to deal with jealousy, fame and the disapproval of her family. Throughout the story she discovers who her real friends are and finds a way to live the life she’s always secretly dreamed of.
Book blurb:
‘Rarely has a book held my heart in its hands the way If You Love Me I’m Yours has. An incredibly uplifting romantic story that has had me laughing and crying over and over again.’
‘Oh my, what a wonderfully sublime book; my heart soared.’
‘This is not a roller coaster ride so much as a ghost train of soul searching and I defy anyone not to feel a part of it, to recognise something of themselves.’
‘If you love me, I’m yours…’
Maud didn’t mind being boring, not really. She had a sensible job, clothes, and love life… if you counted an overbearing ex who had thanked her, rolled over and was snoring before she even realised he’d begun! She could tolerate not fulfilling her dreams, if her parents would pay her one compliment about the only thing she was passionate about in life: her art.
Dot should have fit in with her flamboyant and slightly eccentric family of talented artists, but somehow, she was an anomaly who couldn’t paint. She tried hard to be part of their world by becoming an art agent extraordinaire, but she dreamed of finding her own voice.
Dot’s brother Nate, a smoulderingly sexy and famous artist, was adored by everyone. His creative talent left them in awe of his ability to capture such passion on canvas. Women worshipped him, and even Dot’s friend Maud flushed and bumped into things when he walked into a room, but a tragic event in his past had left him emotionally and physically scarred, and reluctant to face the world again.
Someone was leaving exquisite little paintings on park benches, with a tag saying, ‘If you love me, I’m yours’. The art was so fresh and cutting-edge, that it generated a media frenzy and a scramble to discover where the mystery artist could be hiding. The revelation of who the prodigious artist was interlinked Maud, Dot and Nate’s lives forever, but their worlds came crashing down.
Were bonds of friendship, love and loyalty strong enough to withstand fame, success and scandal?
