1. What is the worst date you can remember going on?
I remember one particular date to the cinema with a really lovely guy. The problem was when my nose started bleeding! We had to leave and go home because I was covered in blood! Not the best way to start a date. We ended up as friends though.
2. What are your favourite romance novel and movies?

My favourite romance novel of all time is Wuthering Heights. The codependency of the two main characters isn’t for everyone but there is some absolutely beautiful prose in the book. My absolute favourite quote from the book that gives me shivers is:
“Because he’s [Heathcliff’s] more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same, and [Edgar’s] is as different as a moonbeam from lightning, or frost from fire.”
I also adore the movie version of the book by Emily Bronte that stars Ralph Feinnes and Juliette Binoche as Heathcliffe and Cathy.
3. You have some gorgeous pups in your books, are they based on real ones you meet?

I have definitely based the dogs in my books on dogs I have met. Not always but definitely sometimes. The dog Chewie in my novel Dreaming Under an Island Skye was based on my friends Hungarian Vizsla, Goose. My debut novel has my own dogs Ruby and Marley (called Angus in the book). We lost Marley in November so it’s nice that his memory lives on in one of my books.
4. Your book is dedicated to your daughter Grace, what is the best thing about your relationship?

Grace makes me so very proud. But she also makes me laugh until I cry. I adore her kindness and how thoughtful she can be. Now she’s at uni I miss her terribly but she knows this so she messages me regularly
5. How does it feel to own ? Co own? a book store and be an Author?

Being partner in a bookshop is an absolute dream come true! It’s a beautiful shop anyway, but the customers are wonderful. I look forward to going in and miss it when I’m not there!
Five facts:
I have the worst beauty routine ever! I really should moisturise and take of my skin more!

My favourite fragrance is Fuji Green Tea from body shop and my friend bought me the body butter for Christmas so I now moisturise my arms and legs!

Daily inspiration for me is when I go to the bookshop on my working days. I love being surrounded by books. But my TBR list almost touched the ceiling! Occupational hazard I guess!

I love reading to relax but I don’t get as much time to relax and read as I would like!

My go to recipe is tiramisu. I’m definitely a dessert person. And this one is so easy. Sponge fingers, amaretto or Marsala, double cream, marscapone, coffee and dark chocolate. Soak the sponge in the coffee for a few seconds then remove and layer in a bowl, whip the double cream, marscapone and amaretto liqueur (or Marsala) in a bowl and layer on top of the soaked fingers, grate dark chocolate on top, repeat until all ingredients are used and pop in the fridge!
