My Review: I am delighted to have had the opportunity to read an advanced copy of Margaret Amatt’s highly anticipated new release: ‘ A Surprise Proposal in the Rose Garden (The Glenbriar Series Book 8), due out on May 31st.
What a wonderfully, beautiful story, well written, engaging, funny and romantic.
The whole idea and concept had me gripped. Genevieve is a high level influencer with a picture perfect life, Finlay is a 2 time failed engagement guy who is planning on escaping the gossip for a job in Dubai.
Somehow these unlucky in love pair find themselves together in her fathers rose garden, drunk and flirtatious, it’s all fun and games until it isn’t.
Finding themselves in a situation they have to play out for almost 3 weeks, where does the truth start and the lie end? Do they even know. Add a stunning weekend away in a castle and the lines blur further.
Will the lie become the truth, can everyone else see what they can’t? Are the oracle cards and the intuition stronger than their own thoughts?
I could not put it down, I inhaled page after page, breathing in every twist, turn and spark. I could not wait to find out what the end result of their agreement would become.
Margaret is a wonderful talent, gentle and great at her craft, she reels you in slowly until your hooked til the very last page. PS: You are gonna love Mitzi.

Author Bio –
Margaret is a bestselling Scottish author and chocolate lover who has been writing stories for over twenty years (possibly more if you count her primary school efforts). Her early works will never see the light of day and are locked in dusty vaults on some old floppy disks. But after all those years of practise, Margaret released her first novel in 2021. It was the first of a ten-book series set on the gorgeous Scottish Isle of Mull.
Margaret is also the author of the acclaimed Glenbriar Series, based in the fictional Scottish town of Glenbriar. This is an on-going series with more books coming in 2024.
The stories are unashamedly romantic but with lots of drama and an eclectic mix of characters. Each
book can be read as a standalone but followers of the series will enjoy catching up with the characters.
