Books, life, inspiration…. and my PMDD

My BlogPost for the Team BATC BlogTour for Return to Half Moon Farm by Author Holly Hepburn

My Review:

I really enjoyed Return to Half Moon Farm by Holly Hepburn. I have read a few of Holly’s previous books, whom I discovered as an author I enjoy, when searching for audibles read by Karen Cass.

Daisy and her two sons, Campbell and Finn return to a very run down Half Moon Farm to care for her more or less estranged mother, who is recovering from ill health. She has two carers who lightened the load. With the kids missing their old life, closer to their dad and all of their friends and football club, it’s hard to try and integrate them.

Finding their feet, they befriend Alice, whose dad Kit doesn’t have the very best first impressions of their mother.

Furthermore, there is a feud going back years between the Moon’s and Devereux’s.

Daisy is very lucky that she can take her work with her, and is encouraged by her agent Phoebe.

Old letters, love, carvings in a tree and local hot guy Drew also add to the story. What’s real? What’s not? Who can be trusted? How will Daisy feel when it comes to the right time to return home, these all add to what makes the story enjoyable and keeps you reading. I definitely recommend this book as a kindle, paperback or audible.

When Daisy’s mother falls ill she is forced to return home. With her twin sons in tow, she moves back to Half Moon Farm, her family’s ancient hop farm.

But a new life in the Kent countryside isn’t necessarily as idyllic as it might seem. Daisy’s relationship with her mother is complicated and the tumbledown farm isn’t the only thing that needs rebuilding. Daisy and her sons must adjust to life with estranged family, a leaking roof, and no WiFi.

Luckily for Daisy, she might yet find some distraction in silver fox farmer, Drew, or in the haughty heir to the nearby estate, Kit, who she can’t seem to avoid.

Daisy must learn to juggle her new life, the boys, and the daunting task of updating the farm. But there are secrets lurking in her family’s past that might throw everything into further disarray…
